CLEMSON NATION - BREATHE !

Although I am very excited for the football team, I am more excited that this young man made the decision to stay in school, complete his education, get his degree, and THEN play in the NFL. I was not able to see the news conference, but I ran to the computer when I got home last night and pulled up Tiger Net to see what he had decided....I was very proud - not to mentioned surprised. I was afraid he was going to announce that he was leaving for the NFL.

He is quoted as saying: "I had to do what's best for me," Spiller said. "That was being at Clemson. Something just didn’t feel right about me leaving. A lot of guys start things they really never finish, and I really don’t want to be labeled as one of those guys. It is also important to me that I get my degree. I can finish by next December and that is important. I want to set an example for the other young players in this program and the ones that will be coming to this program in the future."

GO TIGERS!! AM I OBSESSED? Do I need a intervention? No - this girl just loves her Tigers......

If you need an intervention I promise that you are NOT alone. I'm so glad he's staying. I always worry for the college athletes who leave without a degree. I know the lure of fame and fortune is tremendous but it only takes a split second to receive career ending injury. Did you see that I posted the swap partners?

Yes he made a wise decision, that degree will serve him well. I've known a few that went to the NFL with a VERY short career ....
